Mingyang Cui, Ph.D.
Postdoc Associate
Research Laboratory of Electronics
Mingyang Cui received his B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Tongji University, China, in 2014. He then received his M.S. and Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science at Washington University in St. Louis, in 2017, and 2021, respectively. He then joined the Micro/Nanofluidic BioMEMS group as a postdoc associate in February 2022. His PhD research was primarily focus on (i) acoustic trapping, imaging, probing, and analyzing cilia dynamics of single swimming cells (Chlamydomonas reinhardtii), (ii) rare cell separation and enrichment, (iii) exosome purification and detection, and (iv) controlled assembly of tumor spheroids for applications in cancer, in which he gained broad experience in microfluidics design, modeling, fabrication, and testing. His current work is on preconcentration, separation, and purification of nanoscale bio-samples in electrokinetic microfluidic devices.
